Talking put on my poor man's exhaust on tonight

EDIT-----PICTURES ON PAGE 2

I put the truck on the lift. Cut off 2 factory exhaust clamps (because dodge thought it was a good idea to put the nuts of the clamps on TOP of the pipe where you cant get an impact on it) and a little prying and cutting later the old muffler rests on the floor.

I lowered the truck back down to fire it up with open pipe under the cab, LOUD AND AWSOME, sounded like an old Mopar muscle car, till the RPMs drop and there is a ton of cackling noise,

I put the truck back up and started fitting up the new stuff. All I needed to fill the gap was the new thrush turbo muffler ($24 bucks) and the 2ft peice of pipe. (about $7) I did put muffler as far back on the exhaust system as possible so its under the box of the truck in hopes to keep it quiet in the cab. I did have to shorten the new filler pipe a few inches to get everything to line up to fit.
3 new clamps ($2 each) later and WOW.

Sounds like a healthy stock rumble x4 at idle, sounds good up to 3k RPM then it starts to fade off and it as almost as quiet as stock at higher RPM. You hear it more behind you than anything, no drone in the cab.

On the way home (about 10 miles of open road at 55 mph) its very quiet, like stock, you have to listen for it to hear it even with the radio off. Exactly what I was looking for cause its the DD for me and the wife and kid.

I thrilled about the install, Cheap, pretty easy, and great sound!!

I will get some pics up and a video of sound in a day or 2

I was checking those Dynomax Thrush Turbo mufflers out on the Summit Racing site....not too shabby. What size inlet/outlet did you get. I was checking out mine and it appears to be 2.5" to 3" diameter. Is that about right? They have one muffler on there that is about 25" overall. That could bolt right in. I need to measure the stocker....does anyone know? That stock muffler is a big SOB...

Do you guys have the part number of the Thrush Turbo Muffler that worked for you? Did you have to add any custom hangers to hold the muffler and pipes up?

My '06 had full 3 inch exhaust stock. I thought that's the way they all were.
