Talking Converter is ON!!!!

Got the converter on today.....

Few pics from the install:

First impressions of it.... HOLY SH*T!!! Night and day difference from what it was like this morning til the afternoon. Shifts are much better, launches are just nuts and the truck feels much much more peppy when on the gas. Every stop light I hit the gas and listen to the tires spin... I need to go out and reprogram it later tonight and see how it does this week. Only thing that is different though is that it takes a little more gas to get it moving from a stand still. Just taking my foot off the brake like I usually do to back out of the drive way doesn't work very well anymore, I mean it still moves when you take your foot off but just not as fast as it did before....

When you get a chance do some timed runs so we can see what type of difference it makes in performance. Congrats on getting it installed!

Did a few this afternoon, new best 0-60 5.63sec... was 6.05, that was right after the install so the truck really hasn't had enough time to relearn everything (we had the batter cable pulled for about 5hrs during the install. Most of the time was removing the old one and taking everything apart, putting it back together was really quick.

That is a nice improvement in your 0-60. What stall is that converter?

nice install man the next thing you need to invest in by the direction you are taking is a cam or some sort of forced induction setup to really put that bad boy to work and get into the 4's for your 0-60 keep up the good work man

It took about 5-6 hours but that wasn't just the converter install, we also dropped the pan and replaced the filters and put in the larger trans cooler too. A lot of the time was getting everything removed and waiting for things to cool down though. Even after letting the truck sit for about 3hrs, by the time we got to pulling the old converter, it was still to hot to touch.

All and all though I am happy... I use to thing the 4.56 gears were my favorite mod but with the new converter I think gears are moving to second, this thing is just fun to drive now!!!

RidinHigh - Spartan Cam, Pacesetter LT headers & 3"ORY, E-Fan and a custom CMR tune are next on the to do list for performance parts. May have to side track a bit and get some new rims though so we'll see. Everything will be done hopefully by the end of the year though.
