Thanks all.

Simon, I used a satin black paint after prepping it and using adhesion promoter. Nothing special and no problems to date.

Default beware of painting headlights black

I just did my 2010 headlights black. I baked mine at 250 for 10 minutes. Had to bake them 3 times and pry with screwdrivers but came out awesome with no problems. Sanded then painted with paint for plastics black satin. Perfect no dirt or runs. The reason for plastic paint is that I ended up sanding through the cheap chrome plating to the plastic. Went to clean fingerprints off the inside of the clear lens before re asemble. Saw a small scratch on inside of lens and used mcguires cleaner wax to get it out. WTF!!!! The inside must have no coating on it. It looks like I used sandpaper!!! Even used microfiber towel to wax with. Finally got it close to clear. Cant really tell unless you get about a foot away and the sun hits it just right. If you do your lights yourself be carefull with the inside of the clear lens its coating is different than the outside. The chrome bezel that the bulb mounts in cleans easily and didnt scratch at all. I used black 3M window-weld super fast urethane to seal it up. I filled the slot that the lens fits in about 3/4 full then squished the lens in till the clips latched. Then sealed all around the lens and wiped smooth with my finger. Had to wash hands with gas. It says to use mineral spirits but I had gas in my shed soooooooo........After washing I ran around the yard in circles for 13 minutes till i ran out of gas...HaHa I dont have pics yet they are still drying till tomorrow. I post some when I put them on the truck.
