Crew Cab not so big?
Okay, so I own 2011 Ram 1500 with the crew cab. My brother owns a 2011 Ford F-150 with the crew cab. After each owning our trucks for the past three months, I've noticed some things I like about my dodge and some things I like about my brother's F-150.
Firstly, I think the dodge powertrain annihilates the Ford; plain and simple. The 5.7L hemi effortlessly moves and towes and also provides excellent refinement for a full-size pickup truck. The F-150 on the other hand, although not nearly as powerful or refined in the drivetrain department, does offer some neat features that I think give it the advantage with it's interior.
The F-150 is loaded with electrical outlets, cubbies, cupholders and place to put well....STUFF. All doors are equipped with massive size cupholders and storage space. The center console also has very accessible cupholders attached to it for the rear passengers (the dodge has cupholders awkwardly placed on the bottom of the floor. I routinely find myself a little snubbed for space in the front of my truck. It feels like Dodge shrunk the front cab to accomodate for more room in the rear. I'm also a little perplexed about some of the locations dodge chose to put the 12v outlets. Today most all of us have cellphones, I wish dodge didn't put the 12v outlet hidden in the little center console cubby; my cellphone charger chord often gets tangled up in the gear selecter. The F-150 offers a 12v outlet right next to an indash cubby where an iphone can comfortably sit inside of.
I know this comes off as an anti-ram thread, but it's really not. I love my dodge. I love the looks, power and refinement of the dodge, however, I think dodge failed to do their homework on making their crewcab truck big enough to compete with Toyota's and Ford's version of the crewcab...just my two cents.

I look at it the opposite way. Looks like a minivan threw up inside the Ford. Its a truck, you don't need 20 power outlets and 20 cupholders.
As for the size, how tall are you? I'm 6ft and don't have the seat all the way back, tons of room in the front (of course mine is a truck - bench seat no silly car console in the middle)

If the location of the 12V outlets are your primary concern I think Dodge has done a great job. As for cupholders in the rear, are you forgetting about the two in the fold-down armrest? Those are pretty convenient for rear seat passengers. I've never seen the inside of a Ford (don't want to) so I don't know what they have for storage, but in the RAM you have two glove boxes, two center consoles, two under-floor boxes in the rear, storage under the rear seats, plus the door pockets. If you have more crap than fits in there then I guess you would be left wanting, but I'd think that would be the exception rather than the norm.
When my phone needs to be plugged in I use the outlet in the armrest and run the cord out front and leave my phone in the center of the console (the rectangular hole or a cupholder). No cord mess to deal with that way and it's easy to put away when I park.

my 2500 has 2 cup holders in the center console, 2 at the bast of the back seat, 2 built into the fold out in the rear seat, and either 1 or 2 in the driver and passenger door. i have a 12volt outlet on the dash, and plenty of cigarette light outlets, not to mention compartments all over

Im driving a 2009 250 superduty for work. I HATE IT! I know there is 2 years difference between my 11 and the 9, but as far as I know ford has not done too much between them. The thing is gutless, and its only 5.4 my 5.7 (thats .3 bigger) Its amazing the difference. I mean again the whole 2 year difference thing, maybe there is maybe there isnt.
All I know is I wont trade 10! Cupholders and storage pockets for that motor!

Yes, the rear fold down does have two cupholders but all of the cupholders are small in circumference. I know it sounds like I'm making a big stink about cupholders but those are the kind of amenidities you desire from a crew cab. The ford plain and simple has more foot space and places to put your belongings. I think my brothers ford is a very nice truck, however, if I wanted a ford I would have bought one :-).
No, they really arn't. If cupholders are one of your biggest concerns in a truck - then chances are you don't need the truck and could be driving a honda.
