Significantly more power with almost the same mileage makes it a no brainer for the 5.7L Hemi.

Honestly there is not a reason not to get it. The cost increase is very small considering what you get. you get more everything and it is cheap.

Also if you decide LATER to upgrade to a HEMI if you dont like your 4.7 the cost is many many many times the 1500 buck to get it from the factory.

I would say that if you cant afford the HEMI now, save up for a month or two or three so you can.

Iv heard a vast amount of people regret not getting a HEMI, i have NEVER heard of anyone regret getting it.

like stated the hemi is comparable mileage but more power. I had a 5.3L gm and it was very disappointing for 320 hp and i always said i would give mpg up to get the pedal feel i want and the hemi gives me this.

It comes with Laramie's, I don't care about gas mileage and my dealership only gets 4.7s if it's a special order

I bought the truck off the lot and it had the 5.7 in it. However, I had read up on it and as I understood it the difference in mileage between the 4.7 and 5.7 was very minor so I would have gone for the 5.7 anyway. The gearing is where I always get hung up but this had the 3.92 and mated with the 5.7 I am very happy.

Had the 4.7 HO in my 07 Dakota QC 4x4, I know the 08s and up make more power (at a higher rpm) but even so, can't see it cause the weight increase of over 700 pounds dif between the Dak and Ram, and towing 5-6000 pounds would suck in the hills with a 4.7. The good in a 4.7? Less time changing spark plugs. Guess Dodge couldn't find one that will actually last in the Hemi, or, they want their techs to make all the money!
