It is DTE, but take this into consideration....
The truck currently says you are getting 15MPGs, you fill up, it calcs about 390 DTE. You then get on the highway and set the cruise @ 65. Your MPGs start to go up and even though your tank is getting lower your DTE can actually rise for a time period as your MPGs are going up from 15 to 18-19ish.

It only hit 100 today in Wichita. Heat index was hotter but I don't think it registers the index. Was it your Ram that displayed 109? I'm wondering how accurate our thermometers are.
