Just got my first truck. Will these mods help my MPG?

...I'm debating on changing the 32.2" 47 or 48 pound 275/70r17 TRX4 AT tires for some 31.6" 40 pound 265/70r17s at tires, like Firestona Destination ATs. ... but even if I find somebody who actually wants my TRX4 barely used tires (yeah, right!), I will never break even. But I might like it more!
WELL WORTH IT TO ME.

Don't buy the mods for the fuel savings or performance increase. Mufflers change the sound and that's about it. Sure you may pick up 5 HP or so but that's nothing on a 400 HP truck. You may pick up .5 MPG but you'll offset the gain just to hear the exhaust. Not to mention it will take a lot of .5 MPG miles driven to make up the $200 spent on the muffler.
Buy the muffler if you like the sound.
Buy the intake if you like to clean and reuse it.
Buy gears if you need to tow or race.
Those are valid reasons, not fuel mileage.
