I am wondering the same. The instructions are not ckesr to do with the ground. Is it cut and then connected to a metal ground? Or is it tapped or spliced into and then connected to metal ground?

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank you!

I completed my install. The ground does get cut at the clockspring and then connected to vehicle metal.

Make sure these wires are firmly installed to prevent it being lose and bad contact. Lastly make sure you find a suitable ground location. Once complete, you should see the steering wheel buttons light up. All buttons should work and horn should be operational. Note: None of the buttons or horn will work without the EVIC installed nor will most everything in your cab will work. The EVIC is where most everything runs through. If you install the old ST cluster, everything will work except the horn and buttons, you should still see the buttons light up though. BUT, without the proper sales code added to your vin then nothing will work with the EVIC. This can be done at your local dealer, provided they have common sense and want to help. Or you can contact Jon and Scott and they will not only add the needed sales code but much more. The mileage will be up to you whether you want to park your truck at the dealership for awhile till the EVIC comes in or you could have it reprogrammed. Some people like to just burn up miles on their old cluster to catch up to a used EVIC. Please let me know if you have any questions and if you learn anything new, please post it. Please also post with any success you have with this mod so others may install with confidence.

Also, if you need to know how I hook up my compass and homlink, please let me know.

So cut the ground wire under the steering column. The ground coming from the clock spring wire, attach a jumper wire and find grounding point for it.
The LinBus and Fused B+ wires are the parts that are confusing. I know the EVIC harness on the back are tapped/spliced NOT cut but the wires that are tapped/spliced into them, where do they get attached to?? Can you please this part in better detail. Thank you very much.

I have researched some more and have posted some pictures of what the wiring harness connections to the EVIC and the non EVIC look like. I have a 2009 Dodge Ram quad Cab 4.7l SLT that has the EVIC on it (for sell by the way) and then I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 5.7l St with basic cluster. I took pictures of what the wiring looked like in the back of these clusters and then took a picture of my uninstalled EVIC back to see the plugs. I didn't pull the clusters from the truck because it would be hard to get a photo of the wiring connections in the back. I also included some wiring scematics that I have pulled from Alldata (a online manual and the only one I could find) these show wiring for both the ST version of the cluster and the EVIC(the same). So its my conclusion that the back of the ST and the SLT have the same wiring at the back of the cluster. Everything seems to work fine when I plugged up the EVIC to my ST truck but the buttons and horn doesnt work as previously disscussed. Another issue comes up with the Steering Mounted Controls Communication Module Information. This module controls the buttons on the steering wheel and to the PCM i believe. I will have to research more on that to see if there are differnet versions on the ST and SLT.

Any input would greatly helpful. thanks!

Emailing them would probably be your best option. They are loceted in Miami Florida, I plan on going there hopefully if this pans out at the begining of October.
