Finished my hid reverse lights

And so far the housing is fine and ive had the lights on for 10+ minutes

I just finished this same mod with 6000k hid's ordered from ebay. Everything is plug and play, mounted my ballast with a self tapping screw, took about 15 min. They are nice and bright very happy with it.

Here's a picture of the before and after. Left side is HID and right side is LED.


Both installed

Default What parts did you use?

Hello,
I like this mod! What parts did you order off of ebay? Did you drill out the rear of the light housing to get the HIDs to fit?

No drilling required, they fit right in. Will honestly take you 15 min to install. Very easy.

so are hooked to a switch or just when in reverse, dont see any brake lights in first vid so thinking they are on there own switch

No they turn on when you throw it in reverse, I took pictures with the key on and threw it in reverse without the truck running cause I was alone, all plug and play... I'm sure you could put it on a switch if you wanted but I already did that with my 2 leds you see by the hitch

Here's how the hid's look from the box.



The base of the hid bulb is all rubbery so it fits in there snug and gives it a good seal
