What cab lights- are the mopars worth it? Hard to do on 4th gens?
ive got a set of smoked recons I will sell for $50. I was going to put them on my truck, but the factory are glued to the roof and I dont feel like breaking that seal!
My Mopars came in today. I think I'm going to like these!
The only problem of course is the bulbs. I think any wedge bulb will fit, so I maybe made a mistake because I ordered 10 LED SMDs. Well the lumen output on 10 SMDs is 140-150 limens, and I just found out that the OEM Wedge is 24 lumens... and I think al LED thats 6 times brighter for each cab light is going to look a little gawdy, so I'm thinking about reordering a smaller size (3 or 5 LED).
While the numbers back up this logic, there is a hiccup. On our 2011 camaro, we replaced the stock 194 bulb for the license plate with two LED clusters. On paper we replaced 48 lumens with 90, so it should have just about doubled in brightness... however, it was actually LESS bright. Does anyone understand lighting better than I? because I thought Lumens were light output, so 90 lumens should be more than 48?? the only thing I can think of is directionality of LEDS? But thats a guess.
mdram43- If your willing to sell to a toyota owner, I may have a buyer for you. I'll get back to you. What is there condition- new or used? If used, in perfect shape?
Hammer- I'll consider sending you the cutout, but I'm struggling with some personal moral and ethical dilemmas in doing so. I may feel more comfortable making a new template off of the truck after I use the old template to cut the holes, but that will probably depend largely on the weather. Its winter now! haha...
