With 45,000 already on the clock you have only 3,000 miles left to still be eligible to purchase an extended warranty.

I ordinarily don't believe in extended warranties, but with that high performance engine and with the likelihood that you're not going to baby it like the original owner did, you might be damn glad you bought an E/W for it. Don't look to the dealership for it though. Look on the web for "Chrysler Factory Plans Dot Com" - they're about half-price of what the dealer charges for them and it's the real-deal factory extended warranty (Service Contract). You can get them with variable deductibles, either 0, $50 or $100 and for any term up to 7 yrs/100,000 miles. You're already 3+ years into it & nearly halfway through the mileage, and yes, they're still a little expensive even at half price. However, if you ever need it, you'll be awfully glad you have it.

Don't wait until it's too late - you must buy it before the vehicle has 48,000 on it. (after which it's no longer eligible). Ext'd warranties, like the original warranty, start from the original in-service-date of the vehicle, so if you buy a 7yr/100k warranty today, it will only have (approx) 4 yrs and 55,000 miles remaining on it (whichever comes 1st). Also beware not to be tempted to put any engine or drive train mods or chip kits on it, as to do so will void that warranty. (Ditto any exhaust mods)
