Experienced insurance adjusters will take a lot of photos and tell where it started. The 6 or so I was involved in years back the cause was always pinpointed. I was involved in a couple of them with less then 2000 miles on them. Aftermarket and at home radio installs and driving light installations.

My neighbor's house burned down when his truck caught fire in the garage. Turns out it had something to do with aftermarket wiring from a stereo system put in by the person who owned the truck before him. A wire got pinched between two pieces of metal and eventually wore through, then arced until a fire started. Apparently it was hot wired to the battery instead of using a fuse.

Fires are no fun. Glad you and the family got out safely and it was contained quickly.

I have read a been told by insurance adjusters that a huge cause of homes burning is due to vehicles parked in attached garages. Did this fire start under the hood near the battery?

Man that sucks. Sorry to hear about the truck but glad you are OK. Luckily you didn't get burned getting your wife's car outta the way. Don;t know if I should commend you or yell at you for that one. If that tank had gone up.....Yikes! Yeah put up pics, and let us know. I can also tell you, you are now gonna get grilled. When my Wrangler caught fire, I had the cops, a Detective, the Fire Marshall, insurance company all grill me. They are gonna try to get you for fraud on your insurance. It is pretty popular for people to burn their stuff if they are having a hard time paying for a boat or vehicle. Not saying you did anything, just be prepared. They made me feel like a criminal and it was only my aftermarket lighting system relay that chaffed and shorted under the dash.

Most always a aftermarket something. The other is vandalism usually within the family. I had several cars that a unhappy wife/husband took the gardene hose an filled the gas tank up. Had one that had been done to and gals hubby did it again after a $3000 dollar repair and she said she'd tke care of getting a locking fuel gap. Waited a little too long.

As i am aware,I don't have any enemies,I am allways generous,Allways offering to help people in any way.I am not struggling to pay any bills,Me and my wife both have good jobs.If they try to pull some b@ll sh#t statement about me vandilizing my truck,in my own driveway, next to my wifes car, which is next to my home, risking our own lives, the devil is in there hearts. It had to have been something electrical, the passenger side front between the front fender, and front windshield suffered the most damage. Both front tires are blown, the entire engine area is gone,no hood,no glass, interior is gone.I had a lot of hard earned money in my truck, other than my wife and son, this truck was my life! And because of a fire,we almost lost ours.....
