I had a 06 Toyota Tacoma that was totaled in a head on (other drivers fault). My insurance company (State Farm) was very good at the settlement. While I was researched and was prepared, they offered more than I expected. They used what the vehicle was selling for not KBB, included sales tax, license plates. They also took into consideration the low milage of the vehicle.

They helped in getting medical and personal items costs reinbursed. IMO, it pays to have a good insurance company and have been with them for a long time.

 

also don't forget if you have an extended warranty to get refunded for that too

 

and lost wages for the day you had to take off.

 

Any updates on the cause of the inferno that occurred writing the engine compartment?
