Default What can i expect?

Hey everyone
My 3rd Gen 07 ram's Tranny blew so i traded it in for a brand spanking new 2012 5.7 Hemi Ram 1500 SLT Crew Cab, loaded with pretty much every bell and whistle, except the sun roof
anyone have any helpful tips? this is my first brand new vehicle and im not sure what to expect from it
My last one was used and only had the 4.7 Magnum
the only pictures i have are from the dealer website, im going to pick up my truck on tuesday

you have to give people time...The weekends are pretty slow around here...not to mention this is the latest generation forum so there are limited users.

All I can say is your gonna be soo appreciative of the hemi. I don't even understand why they still make the 4.7. It had its time, but the hemi is a much better motor, but like everyone it has its pros and cons.

When you think that yours is loaded it must be a loaded slt haha. Not to criticize or anything, but there are much more options you can get. BUT I think you will find it good all the same. I know for me I went from an 07 too and upgraded to my 11 sport. It was not too much of a difference as far as options went because I went from a laramie to a sport. So on that front it was not too much of a difference. BUT going from a third gen to a fourth gen was a big difference. When I bought my 07 the only thing that was holding me back was the interior. I think it left a little to be desired and all the buttons and stuff seemed to be in the wrong places and wrong style. Now being in a fourth gen I feel that everything has come together. I loved the hemi, and now incorporating it with the 5 speed manual is VERY good. The new body style is awesome, but loved the 3rd gen series too. And now with the new interior, again I feel everything has come together. It has now completed the truck!

I think you will be very pleased with this truck. Although with the new 13s just around the corner, I think you might have purchased a little too soon...I think I made that mistake last year. I bought around this time, and I wished I would have waited another few months. I get what they call an air canada deal so it did not really phase me at the time cause I get for cheaper anyway. But 2 months after I purchased I could have saved another 4 grand. They want the 2012s gone to make room for the 13s...BUT if you got a good deal anyways, then I disregard my previous statement

Also just be aware that if you plan to tune your truck, there are no available tunes yet. Not even for the 2011s. We have been given rumors for the past 6 months but the date seems to be pushing back further and further. This is also the release on the 2011 tune, so no guarantees the 2012 will be released at the same time. Don't know if you tune your trucks, but this is just a heads up!

Ah yeah, you're going to notice a huge difference. The '08 4.7 was upgraded with more power (I believe it was 305 crank hp).

I had a 4.7 '05 Ram, now your increasing from 235 crank hp to 390 crank hp. Congrats on the new purchase!

Congrats on the purchase. You will immediately notice the difference in the power and the ride.

Honestly (pending rearend size), your mpg's shouldn't be any worse then your current 4.7, possibly even better.

I typically ranged all around mpg's on my 4.7 close to 14-15 mpg's. Driving the same routes daily, I now see typically between 16-16.5 mpg's, with my '09 5.7.
