What to get?

It is my understanding the 8 speed will be matted to the 2013 Ram 1500 3.6 305 hp Pentastar, with the 8 speed to be added to the hemi in later production. At least that is what I have read when searching the net on the 2013 Ram. It is my understanding the 3.6 will be a $1,000.00 option
The current code guide lists the 3.6 as a $500 option on the Tradesman and no charge on the SLT. It is not currently available on the Sport or the Laramie as both of those trim levels come with a 5.7 Hemi. While this is all subject to change, that is what is available at this time.

I think where the difference is coming in is that there is a $500 charge for 8 speed as well, which brings the total to $1000 for both the engine and the trans. Not sure if you can get the 3.6 without the 8 speed but I will check on that.

Your figure certainly makes sense. My internet reading on the 13' Ram is the 3.6 will ONLY be avail. w/ the 8 speed (no 3.6 with a 5 or 6 speed). The 5.7 will have the 8 speed in later production. I could not find the status of the 4.7 and the 8 speed in 13' but I do know the 4.7 will be avail in 13'. I may be wrong but I swear I read the 4.7 days are numbered. Thanks Cares
