hey guys so i posted a previous thread 6.7 vs 5.7 cause i didnt know if i wanted a diesel or gas.. so i went to dodge and saw a couple lifted 1500's and i really liked the look of that but also love the powerwagon..
so... what would u guys do if you were like me.
i usually go for a nice 4x4 or go trail riding muddin exc on days off i also drive alot and hopefully soon owning a snowmobile or a razer side by side so eventually the odd light towing..
so pretty much i can get a 1500 full leather full everything put a 6" lift on 35's exhaust and throw on a big winch bumper but gets (from what threads say gets 14mpg city and 17mpg highway after a lift.. and after all of that is only $600 shy of a Powerwagon that i would do the same thing lift tires exhaust but the wagon comes stock with a winch and solid front axle lockers and old school 4 on the floor and it can flex like crazy but gets 12mpg city and 15mpg highway. so pretty much the disision is
Independent suspension/no lockers but better fuel econamy
OR
solid axle/lockers/Bad *** but bad mpg's haha..

Im not sure on how gnarly your going to flex the truck off roaring but just remember the 1500 has coil springs in the rear. I wouldn't want a coil popping out if the truck was flexed like crazy.
I would say the power wagon is your best bet. Either truck, depending how you drive can get 8-12 in town driving or 12-18 on the highway. It's all about how you drive and what the terrain is like.

If you're really wanting to do some off-roading I'd without a doubt go with the Power Wagon. Sure, the 1500 can do some, but it's really not built for the level of abuse the Wagon can take. Plus with the 1500 after you spend a ton of money putting all that work into it, would you really want to take it crawling through the rocks to get countless scratches and dings?

Power wagon is dumb *** move, its a over inflated 2500 Ram, with a decal package and and some tricks you can add to a base 2500 ram for a lot less money.
For cost vers benifits a CTD is more practical.
Flue will eat you alive to keep it A power wagon going, and insurance is going to rape you, as its designed for off raod 4x4, insuarnce compainies just love thease trucks..
LT 285 70 17 and 456 gears eat flue just to get the off road play ground.
As I said before in the CTD vers hemi post, get a base SLT 2500 with the hemi, If you want a true off road buggy, get a jeep, it will go 4 times as far off road than any power wagon.
And if you want a lifted up car with a box, A 1500 is going to cost you more than a base 2500 slt hemi 4x4 and Chrysler will not warenty
aftermarket lift kits.
It may make more sense to get old blazer, or bronco and go off roading with them dents, just add more charm with your collection of scrapes and bumps, vers wrecking a pretty Ram 1500/2500.
