More mpg mods?

Dodge trucks get the worst mileage of all the pickups except toyotas full sized it also sucks the go juice. My old 94 F150 4x4 5.0L auto on 33s did better than the 02 short bed 2 wheel drive dodge I am driving now and it had twice the miles on it.. Shoulda fixed the rust and kept it.. but hind sight is 20/20..

I can't even begin to even tell you (including myself) how many other owners of Ford F150's/ Explorers have such "horrible" gas mileage with the 3V 4.6 V8, dating back to early 2000 models. Not to mention it produces almost 25% less power then the 5.7 and yields less mpg's then the current 5.7 with the Eagle heads.

Sell your truck and buy a KIA....that's what some guy I know did...needless to say his man card was pulled. But regardless...you bought a truck...expect 14/18 city/highway....On the highway if I'm in no rush I drive at 65/70mph I'll get 18/19 mpg...just drive careful or sell your truck
Yes we do want to see the most that we can, but IMO I don't buy one for economy. I buy it to work, then worry about economy later

I will not bash like some of the others. But let's get the calculator out.
Headers, good headers will cost you a grand?
Let say you get 1 mpg, and that is generous. That means 26 more miles per tank, or a free tank about every 16 complete fill ups. Figure 85 to fill up. You have saved yourself 250 per year if you do a empty to full fill up weekly. So 4 to 5 years to break even.
If you want mods for other reasons that is fine, but do not justify with fuel savings only
