Angry Manifold Bolts

Any of you that have replaced manifolds with shorty headers. How hard is it to do? Does the shorty headers bolt in with factory exhaust pipes? Any modifications to exhaust or parts on motor involved? I want to do this to get rid of the tick at start up really bugs me. Or since I have extended warranty, should I just have the dealership install quality studs and call it a day? I am at 65k and really wish this was not an issue already, but it is.

Most shorty headers are specifically designed to be drop-in replacements for the stock manifold. Generally just a direct swap. If you have 'stuff' bolted to the manifold studs though, may need different bolts/fasteners to deal with that. Use the dead soft copper, or aluminum gaskets. Even the cheap ones seal right up. Of course, depending on where you are, you may have rusty bolts to deal with. That's always fun. Trick is, to break all the bolts loose just a bit, THEN start taking them out.
