Best bet is to browse the forums and look for recurring topics, good luck with the hunt for a truck
Thanks for that.

Isn't it comforting that the RAM continues to have diff issues. The diff on my Gen III has been opened up twice now.

So I fell in love with a truck on the corner of a small used car lot. I drove by it for 2 weeks.

Finally I went and looked at it.

Holy Mother Of God! I LOVED it.

2010 Ram 1500 Sport. Crew cab, short box. Dark silver or gray...depends on your particular colour chart.

Loaded except for the touch screen nav / sound system.

Has brand new tires and brakes all around. 70,000 kms.

$24,500 CAD.....I was quite happy with the fact that they gave me $12,000 for my 2008. It had to go while it was still worth something as it was starting to rust here and there despite my best efforts.

So, thanks everyone for your help and advice on this forum. I guess I'm off to Gen IV.

Which might explain why they went to the ZF in 2012.

Those American axles are just as much trouble in GMs, too.

2 weeks after buying the 2010 it was at the dealer for a complete diff rebuild.

Now a month and 5000 kms later....it is whining again!

I'm going to let it get worse before I go back. Warranty ends in Feb 2015.
