Have an 09 1500 4x4 Big Horn and will be installing a Pro Comp leveling kit next month in order to fit 305/55/20 Pro Comps on Moto Metal 951s.

Discount Tires told me all I need is a 2.5" leveling kit up front and 1.5" in the rear.

4 Wheel Parts told me I need the same but also need to put new shocks on the rear.

After reading several forums, I cannot find anything saying I need new shocks just for a simple leveling kit. Truck has 10,200 miles on it and is basically still new. Anyone out there who knows the truth, please chime in. Thanks.
The way it was explained to me was.......

It's not required to install new shocks but is recommended to upgrade to shock with more travel.

When you add the 1.5 in spaced above the coils on the rear it pushes the truck up extending the rear shocks. The shock will top out easier and more often and they can wear out sooner.

I'm waiting to upgrade all 4 shocks in a couple of months.

Exactly. I put a Rough Country leveling kit on my '07 Ram that included 1" rear blocks, and it came with their RC Nitro 9000 shocks. I never installed the shocks on the rear (still brand new with boots). If anybody can use them they're free if you pay for shipping...

Ok the stereo I have was I think from the SLT popular pack (2010 5.7 ST Quad), the stereo isn't that great living outside of the states, can I just fit a normal car stereo? If so what's good at the moment?

If anyone is intersted in the True Flow XDI cold air intake for there 09 Ram, 5.7L, I have one that is in like new condition with approx. 500 miles of drive time on it. I would be willing to let it go for $180 which includes shipping in the US. If so, just e-mail me and I can follow up with you. Thanks.

Hey all, new to the forums. Been looking for a part for a while and cannot find it anywhere so thought this would be a good place to ask. Snapped the up/down toggle on a rear ac outlet vent on my center console in my 2009 ram 1500 crew cab. I cannot find this part anywhere. Any ideas or parts warehouse links? I checked the parts dept. on this site also. No luck.

Anyone know if/how the chrome "cover" can come off of the stock 17" wheels? I took a look at it while I was changing my tires out (they didn't last long for some reason.) It looked almost like it was crimped on. I'd like to get those off and repaint the center hub cover to match the black underneath and then the ram head red. Before you ask, I HATE chrome is the reason I want them off.

On the fender there is a hole with an arrow stamped into the metal. Put a torx bit in there (#13, I believe, but don't quote me) and turn.
