Bought a '09 regular cab today

_Rope, I was just overseas, I'm actually sitting in the USO in Atlanta...damn good to be 'almost' home. Anyway, the encs site only shows Rams up to 3500's. You'd probablly have to contact them directly, not sure.

Lie, and Texchrg, congratulations! How are these rated for towing capacity? At $16,000 or so, man, that is tempting. I need at least the extended cab, prefer the 4 door, and need to tow about 6,000 lbs travel trailer. Hmmm... might just stop by Dodge dealer and check these out. My old '93 Dakota 3.9 V6 sure has been one tough truck! I'm getting tired of my '96 Chevy breaking down... drives and rides great, but not very dependable. NOTHING beats reliability! I'd get a Yugo truck if they made them and they were the most reliable (well, not really.... but you get my point).
Oh, and Lie, WELCOME HOME!!

Thats a good feeling, when the plane reaches American air space isnt it? Few more months and I'm home too. I'm working with the encs guys here and they spec'd my exact truck and the rebate was 6500. I'm actually holding out on pulling the trigger until the around first of the year because I want to see how far these rebates will go.
Congrats on being back

Rope, if you lock in the rebates now(buyer order), you will still get any extra rebates that come down the line. As long as the rebate hits before you take delivery, ENCS has to honor it. I don't see how much lower the 2009 rebates could possibly go though. As of right now, they match the 2008's. There were also $1500 more in rebates thru encs. $500 for being enrolled in a college course, $500 for being a previous Chrysler buyer, and $500 "for the hell of it" rebate. If you know you're going to get one, lock it in now in case the rebates go down...but I kind of doubt they will, at least not until all the 2008's have been moved off the lots.
MacDak, that $6500 rebate on the 2009's is part of the military sales program. To get that rebate, you have to be overseas, not sure who else qualifies though.

Thanks for the info, Lie. I just got back from Dodge dealer - and, I should not have driven the '09!! WOW, that is one sweet truck! Drives and rides better than anything I have ever driven. I couldn't feel any lag, etc. because of the 4 cylinder cut in feature. I was up to 70 on the interstate, and thought I was doing 50. I can get the one I drove for about $25k. The SLT(?) I think it was. A very nice truck.

Thank you, finc.
MacDak, I didn't know the 4.7's had the 'whatchamacallit'...where it shuts down cylinders to save fuel.
I can't wait to test drive a regular cab4x2 with the hemi....I TRUELY hope its what I am expecting, or I 'll cancel my order and the dealership can keep sell it to someone else.
Those SEMA trucks have my imagination pumping!

Lie, the 4.7 doesn't have the MDS (4 cylinder only on highway, sometime feature), only the 5.7 has it. I drove the manual 4.7 '08 and the 5.7 '09 - the '09 is awesome! Fell in love with it immediately. If that thing holds up as good as the first impression - it will indeed be one of the great trucks. I'm just concerned about towing my trailer, but with the lifetime drive train warranty, I guess you can't go wrong. I don't think you will be disappointed with your test drive...
