I had a hard fiberglass cover on my old Dakota and it flew off one time when I was off-roading. I wasn't latched all of the way and I hit a big bump. I am glad it never happened on the highway.

I think I am going to get a soft one, if anything at all.

I bought one that I thought was going to be cheap from Ebay since it was only 259 and free shipping. It opens the same way as a hard top. Was fairly easy to put together, I am handicapped, my wife and daughter built and installed it. The directions are a bit difficult but if you read them a few times thru you will understand and not make mistakes like we did. It is on now, works and looks good, Made in USA, couldn't find one made in Canada for that price. As far as leaks you get some rubber strips with it to put at the end. If you want you could but a tailgate seal, only place it leaks now but not enough to get anything wet. It lays flat too now covered wagon look.
