He is a pretty busy guy at the dealership. I saw him cutting deals left and right the two or three times that I was there. He always got right back to me. I hope that the out of state thing is not an issue for him. OK is still part of the SW group so the money should be the same. I don't think there is a problem with dealership rules that would prevent him from selling to an Okie. You of course would have to pay tax and register in OK. You also might have to drive a Lone Star instead of Big Horn! You friends would love that....could increase your vandalism risk.

Bountyhunter, where in Canada are you? I have not been able to get anywhere near that kind of deal on a 2009 Ram so I am still waiting. I even checked on Carcost Canada and they did not show incentives anywhere near that amount.

That's supposedly way below dealer cost if that's what he got it for. My buddy at the dealership showed my his costs and he only took 300.00 in commission on it. I'd like to know where you got that deal also.

The dealer invoice does not give you the dealer's cost of product. There are numerous back door rebates and hold backs that can add up to thousands of dollars. To get the best deals, you must get into that money.

Yes, even at that point the dealer is still making money - maybe not as much as they'd like to be making, but they're making money. It's a numbers game - the more trucks they sell, the more they get in rebates, and other kickbacks. Plus the holdback on these trucks is like $1,200. It's a complicated model, but they can sell trucks "for a loss" and still make money.

I bought my '07 from Mac Haik in Georgetown, but they didn't want to budge past 12k off sticker. Truck was 44,500 MSRP and that was all I could get. We started at 10k and it took a lot of work to get to 12k. I showed them ads from dealers in the San Antonio area that were taking $15k off and they didn't care. I think they're a great dealer, but they want to keep higher margins I guess.

South Point has lied to me multiple times - they'll do anything to get you in the door and the deals are never as advertised. I would never buy a vehicle from there.

You can try Mission Chrysler Dodge in San Antonio - they had no problem taking 15k off, but then again they were trying to screw me on my trade.

I purchased from Boerne Dodge in SA. Truck was stickered at 42,500 and I paid about 28k for it, so I got 14.5k off. They're a small dealer in a small town though, so I don't know how much you'll be able to do remotely, but they did have a pretty good selection which you can view online.

I am in the exact same position. My lease expires april 12th and i'm still looking around. I'm in Montreal PQ

I just saw that bountyhunter is from windsor ontario. Let me know which dealer you dealt with, I will call them tomorrow. With that kind of deal I will be more than happy to drive over there to buy it.
