That is the very point where I would worry about dirt working its way under the Bed Rug. That and along the sides since the floor and sides are separate pieces. They make these things molded to fit the specific truck beds as it is, why can't they go ahead and provide the slits for the tie downs?

Good point. That will definitely allow water, dirt, etc. down under the bed rug and I'd have to take it out after every dirty load.

I originally wanted a dual-liner, but I could not find it for the crew cab's 5'7" bed and didnt want to wait or put stuff in the bed without protection

Default Bedrug

My buddy has one in his ford and he hauls all kinds of stuff in it. It cleans up really well. Can't tell he's ever hauled anything in it. I don't know about the stuff getting under it, I don't know if he's ever had it out. Hope this helps. The plastic bedliner was in my truck when I got it or I'd have line-x'd it.

I looked at this product and the sides of the BedRug actually zip up to the bottom piece, so there's no chance to get dirt in from the bottom. The sides actually go up underneath the rails to keep dirt from getting down the sides.

Has anyone really used this product. I'm highly considering a Bedrug since I have a cover on my bed anyway and need something just to keep from scratching my truck.

I got a price from Line X today and they want 800 for a color matched Kevlar spray over the rails and 600 for the Kevlar Black. 500 For the standard Line X with no Kevlar. Thats way expensive. I know its indistructable but thats tough to swallow when i can get the bedrug for 350 fully installed.

Where stuff can get underneath the bed rug will be where the factory tie downs are. That's where you need to cut slits.

Good point. Didn't think of that.

Guess i could add a little adhesive to seal the carpet around the tie downs. I wish the Ram had the F150 tie Downs that you can bolt down over the carpet after it is installed.

I have one in my '07 ram and love it. I've never hauled dirt in it though. It makes the bed almost like a padded trunk with the ARE Tonnue , for fishing rods and keeps stuff from sliding around. I'm going with the same setup when I get my '09. I'm pulling all my aftermarket stuff off the '07 and selling it as well. It won't work on my new truck.

That looks nice! I don't plan on hauling dirt either. I have a trailer for all that. I'm just going to be hauling my quads, and motorcycles a few weekends a month, but mostly music equipment and luggage. I have a tonnue cover as well, so I'm not worried about the weather on it. Plus it looks really nice.

Another nice avantage is the tailgate portion of the bedrug is connected to the main floor section. So no loose items falling through that space
