as for the service light. no idea man. the only "notice" i get from my truck is the "service the rear park system" but that is because the sensors are usually covered in snow.
Sensors covered in snow? All the more resson not to live anywhere north of I-10!!! South Texas Rocks!!!

Kinda hard to imagine that no one else noticed that but, thats another story. I pulled it back into the parking spot and went to see the Salesman and Sales Manager. After a lot of attention and misdiagnosis they encouraged me to take it home for the weekend and bring it back today as they felt it was nothing major. The 4WD was funtioning properly.

Over the weekend the SERV 4WD light would come and go but, mostly stay on. The ENGINE MALFUCTION stayed on and the OAT would read 115F and 130F and then ---F.

I left it at the dealer all day and to make a long story short they felt it was fixed. When I picked it up it APPEARED fixed although the OAT was off by about 40 degrees. After shutting the vehicle off once the OAT begain reading correctly at 9F (Michigan).

At lunch time a buddy of mine and I went out to take the truck for a test beat. Upon starting it the SERV 4WD light, ENGINE MALFUNCTION light were both on and the OAT was reading ---F. WTF???

Any suggestions?? Is this the same or similar problem that others are having? The SERV 4WD is throwing me a bit.

I've drove Dodge Ram trucks for 15 years and NOT ONE was ever in for repair. EVER!! All I did was put in gas, change the oil and brakes. On one I did have to replace the front wheel bearing at 118,000 miles. This truck has been to the dealer twice in two days and will now go back again.
sounds like you need the TSB repair that was released monday. parts are already on backorder. washer sensor leaks onto AAT, fluid can travel up the harness to TIPM connector and cause all sorts of stuff. sounds like yours is worst case, and our first one was just like yours. sorry to hear that, sucks. nice truck BTW. mines sunburst orange sport.

That is exactly what the problem was. I just got the truck back tonight and everything is working exactly like it should (for now). I hope it stays that way.

The Sales Manager really felt bad about the whole experience and he phoned me this afternoon to tell me he was personally driving my truck to make sure everything was ok and he asked "Would you be terribly upset if when you came to get your truck there was a set of Mopar step bumpers on it" Obviously, my answer was "Hell no!" Well, sure enough, when I showed up there was the truck with a brand new set of Mopar step bumpers. NO CHARGE!! They have a Dodge logo and the step pattern matches the step pattern on the rear bumper. They totally complete the "look" for me. At the moment I'm pretty damn happy.

Glad you got it fixed. That was great customer service by your dealership to throw in the steps!

That's the kind of service Dodge should give at every dealership... unfortunately that is not the case and that's why no Dodge dealer has earned my repeat business.

good to hear. those O.E. steps are not cheap at all. so in a sense, kind of worth the hassle?
