I'm guessing you removed this to do the cutting. Does it just pop off with clips or is it screwed down. I have a Tekonsha Prodigy controller and it wouldn't fit in the stock cubby hole. I hadn't thought about cutting the inside of the pocket out. Good idea! I think the power pedal switch goes here if you have that option.

that cubby is there for the new 2010 2500/3500 brake controls. if you look at the new pics of the trucks they have a flush mounted brake controller installed in there.

I could have swore one of the trucks i test drove had a panel covering this area with a switch in it like the old power window switches. I just looked at the brochure online of a laramie and this area was open. So, where is the power pedal switch located on the 09's?

I cheaked with my dealer and he said the pigtail was not included in trailer package anymore, they sell them for 29 dallars but I went to ebay and bought one for less than 10 dallars including shipping, it was brand new still sealed in the plastic bag, the seller had several more for sale including fords and chevys so he must deal in them, there were several listed about a month ago on ebay, mine was a buy it now for 6.95. Someone mentioned on this or the other board that he used to install them and used 3m tape instead of drilling holes and screws and never had a complant so I am going to try that.

I got the pigtail from U-Haul for $6.95. I had to get the one for the 06-08 model ram but it is the same plug. Find a U-haul that does the hitch installs and they will have them in stock.

They are a snap to install. Took mine from my 06 i traded in the 09 just plug it in and tied harness out of the way and mounted controller. If you look under the dash you can see the plug in area. I hate wiring but i did it. LOL

Do you use the white double sided foam tape or the thin gray moulding tape. I have some of both. I think the moulding tape would be stickier. I think I will try the tape method first before I cut up the cubby hole.
