So this kit is a significant step up from what you'll see with some Silverstars? I had those on my '07 and they were an improvement over the stock lights, so just trying to gauge how much of an improvement over Silverstars these are.

Silverstars are greasy kid stuff compared with HIDs. I did use the Silverstar Ultras in the high beams because they are brighter than stock, but also as HIDs need a warm-up period for a few seconds (about 15) for full brightness, that won't do you any good if you have to flash your highbeams at someone, plus I didn't want to spend the money for lights I seldom use in comparison to the low beams. Another reason is I had the headlight units out already and I could kill 2 birds with one stone (as the saying goes).

The picture on the left shows the color difference between the HID and the Silverstar Ultra.
The right one shows both the low and high beams on at the same time.

I agree that I like the HIDS much better, I just don't know that I'm ready to do anything like that before the bumper to bumper warranty is up. I've heard of bad stories with aftermarkets HIDs on other vehicles/forums.
