Default Clearing 35's thread.

I took some quick pics of the TRX-4 with a tape measure. Depending on the width of the tires and backspacing of the wheels I think you could clear 35's. Remember, the TRX-4 does come with a front coil spacer. I'd like to know what a regular 4x4's height with the same tires is. Can anyone measure it so we all know?

There is 37" between the ground and the fender. The current 275/70/R17 is 32.4 inches tall.

There is ~5.5" between the top of the tire and the fender flare.

~3.5" from the back of the tire to the flare.

~4.5" from the front of the tire to the flare.

Wheels turned all of the way to the left.

Wheels turned all of the way to the right.

This is where they would rub. Against the upper control arm.

37.75" fender to ground. Don't see why a 35" wouldn't work if it's no wider than a 33" Wrangler HP.

Right. The height of a 35" is not the issue. It is the width that would limit you. The 275/70/R17 has a section width of 10.8 inches. A 35X12.50 is obviously 12.5" wide. So with a new, wider wheel the backspacing would be everything.

It all depends on your rim backspacing if you get new rims it would work slot better

The 17's are 17x8 correct? If so, a 35x12.50 on an 8" wheel would probably lead to uneven wear. I would go with a 10" wide wheel.

My Laramie measures 37 1/4" between the ground and the fender flare. It is stock and has 275/60R-20 tires on it, that are 32.99" tall according to Goodyear's spec sheet. The diameter measures ~33" with my tape measure, when measured with the weight off the tire (ie. not taking into account the static loaded radius).

So with 35s and a two inch spacer lift its going to be 40" to the fender flare.

Yours sits higher than my TRX-4 with a spacer. Do you have a spacer in there?

I just went and looked. No spacer that I can see or feel anywhere at the top of the spring. That TRX spacer must not be to thick. How thick is the spacer on your truck?

I can only estimate. 1.5-2". It is up inside the coil perch.
