Question Tonneau Cover Question

Ok, so I just talked to my dealer today and the truck is a rail car now and should be in Winnipeg the 1st week of April. So my question is:

Armor lid or Undercover for a tonneau cover??

Pros?

Cons?

Thanks in advance and please keep this on topic as I'm sure there are others wondering about this as well.

The undercover one looks nicer. I wonder how it would look with the shape of our tailgate top. I know the one on the r/t concept looks horrible imo

That's the same "problem" I have. I am big on lines and looks, it has to flow with the design of the truck. The lowest profile cover is what I have desided I would go with. None of the hard tops I have found match the lines.

They did a real nice job with the new undercover. I had one on my 08 before I crashed it and they had to remove the tailgate molding. On the 09 they completely redesigned the cover to accommodate the new tailgate. IMHO the lines look better on the 09 than the 08 did. I'll try to take a couple pix later this morning.

The one thing some people might not like about the undercover is that it only comes in black. That was a non-issue to me.

They say it can be painted, just don't expect it be the exact same, due to the textured surface.

I was thinking of a fibreglass unit, but I want something quick and easy to take off.

Undercover. Low cost ($698), low weight, easy on/off, slim look, waterproof, etc. I've had two, '03 and now '09 Ram. Can't say enough about how good they are.

Thanks for posting pics. I like the look. Black works for me.

Two questions for you: 1) When the cover is locked, does it prevent the tailgate from being opened? 2) It should work with rail guards no problem, right?
