To get the hood it's simple. Get quotes from shops yourself to fix all of it. Go to your insurance company give them the quote and they cut you a check. They will try to low ball you and say that you can only use their shop or list of shops. The check is simply a settlement for your loss. Depending on the isurance company, they will "guantee" the repair if you use one of their shops. Get the check yourself. Buy the hood and have it painted. Fix what else is there.
I would imagine any shop will do this considering it will cost less to fix it than to replace the hood and paint it.

Well when you have a lean on your truck they always cut you a tow party check.
They gave a $1460 check yesterday, and here is the damage:"
5 small dents on cab of the truck
1 on the door
1 on the front qtr pnl.
So I might just be able to get that hood if its say under $1000 Im sure $460 will cover the PDR job on the other 7 little dents.

Just dodged all the tornados in Tenn and Ga. yesterday, we were just staying ahead of these twisters as we were heading SE from Cookesville Tenn, well got into Red top mtn. Ga and bam hit a hail storm on I-75 going 75mph (golfball size), slowed down as quickly as possible while cursing a storm, luckily no damage was very impressed, sorry about your truck.

Just got nailed in Midland, TX by golf ball size hail. Found cover just in time, I think. We will see in the morning.
**Update - Hood has 6 obvious dents, roof 4 more, couple on each side... three week old truck. Never had to deal with hail damage. Any more advice?

That sucks Lynchmob, but only getting 6 dings on the hood is lucky for this size of hail in your pic, I had like 35 dings on my hood and the hail was smaler then yours.
Oh just an FYI the shop has had my truck twice now and still have not gotten the hood right, after they had it the first time they missed 11 spots on the hood, picked it up after the 2nd time with them and just doing a quick glance I still see 3 bad spots

I'd be getting pissed too. What did you find out about PDR? Did you get several quotes or did you have to go to the insurance company's shop?
I am not sure I will file a claim just yet. My deductible is $500 so I will get some quotes first. No luck on the mopar scoop hood??
