I have a high pitch chirp as well, different from the hemi tick which I also have. my chirp was traced to be coming from the water pump. so they ordered up a water pump. might get it replaced late january if I get the time. but when I would go under my truck, or stand by the wheel wells, it would sound like it was coming from the rear of the motor to me so I thought I would reply in your thread. hard to track down those noises at times. letme know what your dealer finds out.
oh and my sounds only starts up after my truck is warmed right up.. no chirps when cold / warming up

Default Cricket noise

Thanks I will give that a look at! For me it only does it when driving a distance and when I park and listen for it, it slowly goes away and when I turn the truck off, everything turns and you can here it turn to a slow fading whistle until its gone.

Default Serpentine Belt Chirp

We have a 09 Ram 1500 5.7 Crew Cab that has what is called Serpentine Belt Chirp. According to the Gates Belt website it is cause by misalignemnt of a pulley and is loudest at an idle. It says misalignment is most frequently on the shortest spans. Go to www.gates.com to read more on the problem. Our dealer says they have replaced the belt and the tensioner (didn't fix) even though I asked them to first check the pulley alignment. Now they want me to live with it saying, "It is the nature of the beast". We also have been having bad Chrome on the Clad Wheels and the rear bumper. We love our truck, but are getting real tired of getting the run around from Dodge and our dealer.

I had the same chirp on mine when it was new. It has now gone away after 12000kms. It definitely wasn't a belt noise either, but was under the engine somewhere. I figured it was just the new rubber engine or tranny mounts wearing in.

I have the same problem on our 09 Crew Cab 1500. I think it is Serpentine Belt Chirp cause by misalighnment of a pulley. Go to www.gates.com Troubleshooting V-ribbed Belt Noise. Our dealer says they replaced the belt and tensioner (didn't help) even though I asked them to check the pulley alignment. I was looking at the alignment on our truck and can plainly see the power steering pulley is misaligned.

I had the same problem. Intermittent at first. Only heard it in the drivethru at first with the noise bouncing off the building and back to me (with the windows down). Took it to multiple dealers and no answers. Finally had a mechanic spend more than 5 min looking and he used a mechanic's stethoscope placed on the housing of each pulley and let me listen. Could hear it plain as day from the waterpump. They replaced it and no troubles since.
Was a weird problem with it being inconsistent. Near the end it was more audible when you revved the engine in short bursts. The stethoscope made it plain as to the source. It did sound like a cricket at first though.

The first dealer sprayed the belt with dressing and said it was due to water from an ac line dripping on the belt. He had no response when I asked him to show me the line as there are none passing over the belt.

At any rate get a stethoscope and listen to the water pump. Hope this helps.

Mine did this, and was the pulley next to the P/S pump, they swapped it out with a 2011 and it was perfect, mine sounded like low P/S fluid, but the fluid was full, had a slight whine to it, now it is perfectly quiet

Sounds like it might just be a squeeky pulley or bearing. You sure it's not coming from the front? I would get under the truck and try to listen if it's coming from under the engine and see if you can narrow it down better.
