I have the same problem. I'm thinking the key fobs just suck for lack of a better way of describing it.

Yup, alarm goes off. Glad I tried it in my driveway rather than the busy shopping area I was at earlier.

Sort of makes you wonder why there's even a lock on the driver's door - or a valet key at all for that matter inside the remote. I could use the traditional key they gave me for locking the tailgate.

I havent tried it yet but supposedly your alrm cuts off when you turn on the ignition with the blade key. ( didnt think of it)

every mopar "super Key" Ive had has issues they usually arrise after an impact in your pocket or dropping them but after awhile its fine.

OK, I took it by the dealer and it worked perfect!, he had a tool that cheaked the signal strength and it was fine, my truck was in the service garage a good 150 ft away and you could hear the horn beep every time he locked it, he did it at least 7 or 8 times, lock and unlock, worked perfect, he wasn't even facing the truck!, I did notice that he kept the remote down by his side aiming straight down, I have always pointed it at truck, I have tryed pointing down since I left and it has worked perfect about 5 times, to early to say if that helps but so far it has

valet key most likely for just in case battery goes dead, you can still get inside. but if you have a dead battery, and a bad latch or rod linkage come off--then youre screwed.

Quick Question:

How can you start the truck with the blade key? I have the "super key" that has the slide out key inside it. I have tried using the traditional blade key to start it and it doesn't seem like the ignition will accept the blade key... Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks

You can't. It's useless. Why it's called a valet key (blade key) is beyond me.
And I can second or third the statement about the alarm. If you use it to open the door the alarm goes off and the panic key took me 5 minutes to get it to shut off. When I put the ignition key (whatever it is) in to stop the alarm the horn beeps just got faster. Finally the panic button worked. It happened in front of a Chevy dealership and they had a great laugh.

I did not have the problem until a couple of days after I read the thread. It would not unlock after remote starting. Did that about 4 times, over 2 days. Been fine ever since. Who knows.

I just changed the battery in my remote 2 weeks ago and today it stopped working again. Battery voltage measured 2.5v (its a 3v battery) which is low enough to be "low voltage."

What's the deal? grrrrr
