remote going dead?
Has anyone had this problem solved yet. I need to get to the dealer to have this looked at, once I find a new one. Every dealer I've talked to has never heard of this problem with the remotes or keyless entry. Both of my remotes have failed several times each, once again this a.m. Those that have had this looked at or fixed, has it happened since?
Is it just the batteries in the remotes?
Thanks, at least I'll have some info for the dealer when I see them.

One morning on the way to work, I had stopped at a convenience store for a coke. When I went back outside and tried to unlock the door with the remote, it didn't work. It took me 8-12 times before it finally unlocked the doors. I had the truck at the dealer a few days later for another ongoing problem and asked about this. The service manager stated that depending on where you keep your keys (like your pocket where things get mashed up against the buttons), that it can cause the key fob to become uncalibrated. So, he suggested that when I bring the truck in next time (when my parts arrive) to bring both key fobs and they will recalibrate them. Perhaps this is all that yours are needing???? FWIW, the service manager did state that they have had this problem before with the fobs with prior models.

The fact that you really have to press the buttons hard would make it hard for me to believe that they would get pressed at the same time. I do know that I have unlocked the doors by accident tough in my pocket, so it's possible. But if it were not callibrated, does it recalibrate itself to work the next time? One thing I had happen last week was not being able to lock the doors. I opend the drivers door and reclosed it and the lock on the fob worked. Had to do it 3 or 4 times that week.
one thing that I know can cause interference is security and video systems. Wireless technology has a bad habit of trampling on neighboring frequencies. There are several places I visit that I always have problems getting the doors to lock or unlock unless I'm right next to the vehicle. All of them have a wireless video and/or security system.
Probably not the only cause but something to consider.

I've had my unlock button fail to respond to me only twice. Both times I had to keep hitting the button until it worked again. Very odd... Both times I had just locked the vehicle and realized I forgot something and needed to get back into the truck right away. The last time it happened was over a month ago. I had forgotten about it until I saw this thread. I guess there is more to this issue than I thought...

Does the signal get weaker if you mass it several times in a row, mine seems to work if I will wait about 10 or 15 seconds before trying again, if I just keep trying it fast it doesn't seem to work
Had a glitch today. I got out, locked it, realized I forgot something inside, tried to unlock it with the remote and it did nothing. Came back 10 min later and it worked.
I'm really nervous about unlocking it with the valet key. I unlocked my parents' Town & Country once with the blade key and it set the alarm off. Anyone know if turning the key in the lock actually disables the alarm?

The second time, I tried pressing the unlock button a few times, but nothing happened. I then hit the lock button again and heard the door locks click (the truck was already locked). I tried the unlock button again, and it worked fine after that.
I am having the same problem. But hitting the lock button once, remote start once and then the unlock button seems to fix the problem. (at least for me
)
Maybe it's a bug in the remote start receiver. Are there any forum members having troubles unlocking the doors from time to time without the remote start factory option installed?
