Default Backup Camera in Tailgate Handle - Several Questions

Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking around here for about a month now and I still haven't posted about my new truck yet - but I'll get to that with pictures soon! This is a great forum and I'm glad to have googled upon it!

Now onto my current questions...

I purchased an '09 Dodge Ram Crew Cab (had been driving a '99 Dakota R/T) last month that did not come with a locking tailgate (10/08 build) so I really want to add the locking tailgate. My questions are:

1. Does anyone know for sure if there is a way you can use the OEM backup camera with an aftermarket screen? I just have the stock radio. I'd like to eventually put in an aftermarket nav system and use the OEM camera but my dealer says not possible.

This is the one I am looking at purchasing:

I talked to the guy there and he said he thinks it comes with the locking cylinder. Does anyone know? Anyone ordered from this place?

2. Smoothbassman did a real nice job on detailing the installation and parts neccesary for a regular locking tailgate here:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen...-walkthru.html

Does anyone know if the other parts he specified would be the same for the backup camera tailgate lock? It doesn't appear that his part#'s match up with the ones listed here:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen...ailgate-2.html

3. Has anyone bought the Mopar OEM remote tailgate lock? It seems you have to cut into the wires no matter if you get OEM or aftermarket.
Any differences in the two?

This looks to be the best deal for OEM:

I hate that the authenticdodge.com site doesn't show P/N's!

Sorry I'm just still not clear on this stuff...

Thanks!

In for answer. I want to add a factory backup camera and lock to it. Like the newer builds with the Parkview option. Honestly, I don't care about the lock. I live in a good area and my office is in a small enclosed facility.

But you never know, so while I do the camera install, might as well take care of the lock too.
