Default 20" Chrome Clad rims? Plastic?

Hi guys, I am thinking about buying the 09 Sport QC 4x4. I have seen a few threads bashing the "plastic rims". Just what do you guys mean by plastic?

Thanks in advance!
1st post BTW!

It's actually a permanently glued on plastic chrome wheel cover! Chrysler saves on polishing/chroming.

Yeah, but still plastic. Chevy seems to do nice real rims no problem. Ford as well on some trucks. The Expeditions that look chrome are also chrome clad.

we purchased an 08 Ford Edge Limited last year with every available option and the 'chrome clad' wheels were considered an upgrade. They actually clean up easily and still look like new so maybe they are not that bad afterall. I noticed them on my Ram on the lot but actually liked the look combined with the chrome grill since these were the only two chrome parts on the truck. But still, they are plastic...

For those in rough winter climates you will be happy they are a plastic cover, will last much longer. Untill you tap them or wash them you would have never knew, nor will the uneducated.
