Couple TPMS Q's?
I'm looking at a set of factory take offs that don't include the TPMS. Is this something that can be easily switched from my set to the new set? Is this in the wheel or tire? I'm not really sure how they work.
Yes they can be switched from wheel to wheel. I put on a set of aftermarket rims and the shop switched them. The only thing is you have to take the tires off to get them. If you're just switching tires to the new rims they can do it at the tire shop. If you're getting new tires you'll have to have your stock ones taken off too.

Roughly, the sensor goes where your standard valve stem does. It senses the pressure and when the pressure drops a set percentage (not sure if it's percent or actual psi) it sends a signal to a receiver which then sends a message to your EVIC which then displays to check your say left rear tire. That's a rough idea of how it works. Someone probably can give you the details better. Hope this helps.

What if I wanted to keep the 1st set of wheels/tires for use in the winter? Could I buy 4 new sensors for the new set or will the truck only read the stock sensors?

Well, yes you can keep your old wheels and put new sensors in them. I was quoted anywhere from $35 ea. to $65 ea. Aftermarket. Not sure what the stockers cost. I'm planning on doing that this winter, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
And yes it's the silver thing on your wheel, and yes it's wireless. Hope this helps.

I had my wheels changed out ~ a week ago. The sensor sits on the inside of the wheel. They bolt in on the back of the valve stem. That's all I know about them aside from the fact I'd rather not have them. They are indeed wireless, so they assumingly have either some kind or gyro operated generator, a pizio-electric cell, or a battery. Any way you look at it, something that will go bad and leave you with the option of having an annoying trouble light, or getting it fixed. My wife has them on the Caravan, and one of them is blipping in and out intermitently. I've checked the pressure in the tires, started it up, and there's the light. Since intermitently almost always means "not while you are actually at the dealership", they said that eventually it will go completely bad, and they will fix it then.
