I just talked to the dealer and the Shop Foreman said that due to the low rpm's (1700) at 60mph, the torque converer is locked up and that is the reason the mds won't kick in.

Does this sound right?

No, that's not right. Probably just told you that to spare your feelings. Seriously, you have 20 miles on your truck. I'm actually surprised you're going into MDS at all.

Don't worry or even think about your fuel mileage for at least a thousand miles because it's pointless. You should be driving it fairly aggressively anyways per the break in instructions in the manual, mds shouldn't be kicking in much at all in that driving style even if you were broke in.

Relax.

You will eventuly notice that the more miles on truck, the more you will see the fuel saver come on ... imho.

oh so its not an option on top of the mds? I thought it might be a tuning option like some of those aftermarket chip setups where you can select different driving modes. With the exhaust done you can definately here it kick down to 4 cylinders. not a huge fan of the drone but with a 10 speaker stereo you dont hear a whole lot anyways
