3.92, 20's averaging on highway about 16.5 . Here in Iowa, we are just starting to get the good gas back at the pumps. I have seen 17 on the highway once. only have 1500 miles on the truck.

A few factors that is killing my in town mileage are very short trips in the cold, winter gas, and ethanol in the gas.

I want regular gas and warm weather!!!

I hear ya. Getting better gas now is good, the car is back up to 31 mpg vs 28-29 over winter. Warm weather helps with the fluids too.
I want to try 87 just to see if I can get better milage. Probably won't increase too much. But it has 0 ethanol which is good. I'll still run recomended 89, but wonder how much better without ethanol. The Dak got about 2mpg better and that was 87 recommended vs 89.

My truck has 1200 miles on it and the last 2 or 3 tanks have shown a steady improvement per the EVIC. Or maybe it's that I'm trying to keep the fuel saver light on as much as I can - with some practice you can get pretty good.

I now have 1300 miles on my truck. I have a 4x4 on 17's with the 3.55 rear end. My best gas mileage thus far was at my last fill up which was 16.8 which was about 1/2 highway and 1/2 driving 10 miles a day round trip up and down the mountain to work.

'09 QC, Hemi, 321, 20" with BAKFLIP G2 top, A/C running and 3 people in the cab......19.9 mpg driving at 65 mph....18.9 mpg driving at 70 mph. Truck had about 1350 miles on it at the time I took it out on the highway.

Just got back from a long road trip all highway miles. Traveled one way 140 miles and only used 6.48 gallons of gas. Averaged 21.6 MPG doing 70 MPH with strong tailwinds. EVIC jumped around between 20.5 and 21.8. Tach was at 1600 RPM with Hemi, 20's and 3:21 gears. On the way back different story, against the strong headwinds, used 8.86 gallons doing 70-75 traveling 140 miles. Only averaged 15.8 MPG, EVIC was showing 13.3 to 16.00. I wonder if a bed cover would have helped with the heavy wind?

I have kept a log of every tank. Maybe I will try 87 as well. As long as you aren't looking for maximum performance, 87 will be fine. The computer will compensate for lower octane if it sees knock.

I heard there was a segment on Mythbusters awhile back where they found better gas mileage with the tailgate up and no cover (an open bed). Go figure!!!

I am getting about 18.5 on long trips with my 3.55 and 20" tires. I just added a Extang Revolution tonneau cover this past weekend but have not taken any long trips to see if there is an increase in mpg.

Has anybody else seen better mpg once you added a cover?
