Hey guys, I am thinking of swapping the muffler out. The guy at the local shop sells Magnaflows, but I was thinking of getting a Flowmaster 40 series. Which muffler would be louder? Would there be a noticeable difference between the 2?

 

Flowmasters are louder. I am telling you what a muffler guy told me when he removed my flowmaster to install a quiter mufller...my old truck.
We discussed mufflers for a while.
Told me on Dodge Hemi's the flowmaster was the loudest muffler he installed.
I suspect a longer flowmaster will be quieter than a short Magnaflow.
Basically the longer the quiter. Shorter louder.

 

LOUD...WFO in less than 4 seconds. If ya get a muffler, go MF.

and flowmasters are louder especially on the dual runner hemi flat to the floor the engine screams like something Ive never heard before it doesnt sound like a loud dragster or indy car like the old one did at wot its like an explosively badass sound.

 

Flowmasters are definatly louder, but they dont perform as well as magnaflow. If you do end up going with a flowmaster go with a super 44. I have a cutout on mine now since im going to do a muffler bypass since I tow alot. To be completely honest, the cutout is loud but sounds kind of ****ty. It has a backfire type sound when it shifts hard and just lacks tone.

 

i have the magnaflow 18" and to me its not loud enough

definately the flowmaster is louder, as far as performance mangnaflow is better but this is in extreme hp classes and won't be noticable in your truck. I have the original 40 and it sounds awesome. The only one louder is the super 44 but i am fine with what i have. LOUD

 

I had true dual exhaust on my 2004 Ram hemi with cherry bombs. Will the flowmaster 40 be louder?

 

I have the Flowmaster Super 44 on mine and it sounds amazing! I love it. I wanted something loud that had a good quality sound and this is exactly what I was looking for.

 

no muffler would be louder lol just cut it right out
