Nice your living the dream my friend!! How big were the dolphins, damn good eating!! How are the Goodyear's holding up, would more aggressive tread help? I thought about 4x4, but most of the boaters I run into say it is not really necessary if you know what you are doing. The last boat I was looking at was a 22' flats boat that probably weights @3,500lbs with trailer. However, I now like a couple of offshore 24' cc boats that weighs @5,000lbs w/trailer.

The dollies were 12 and 14 pounders, My GYs are okay. The problem with the 2wd is not knowing what a different ramp is going to do, a locker or lsd might help but why take a chance, I seen many a truck turned into a german uboat. I usually went to one ramp, and cringed at the thought of some of the steep ramps in the area (limits your boating). Even my ramp I have used many times at low without a problem, it was just when the tide was spring low, but just the worry of having to have some people bouce on the tailgate and getting a running start, if your gonna boat with anything above 21 ocean vessesl get a 4x4 so you won't regret it. I bought my 04 before I was a boat owner, now I have the truck I want and do not regret anything.
