Default Chrysler to file Bankruptcy

Earlier today (4-23-09), the New York Times reported that the US Treasury Dept is filing bankruptcy papers for Chrysler as early as next week. I guess we will now learn how the warranties will be handled. I personally think all of us as owners will be fine. Look for the Fiat deal to be completed in bankruptcy. Let's see, give me 30% of the company for no cash after the all of the liabilities have been removed or limited. Hell, I guess so.....

I guess we knew it was coming, but nothing's official yet. Just rumors at this point. I just ordered my truck on monday, and they gave me my VIN number yesterday. So I guess that's a good sign that they are planning on making it.. I guess we find out next week what happens.

It is somewhat worrisome to know that we just bought an 09 Ram yesterday.
I actually thought about this issue the entire time we were at the stealership.
I hope they didn't just throw the truck together in the factory but they still take some pride in their work. I have always been a Dodge fan and so has most of my family and I hate to see this sort of thing happening.

You should be fine. It is the trucks after the UAW accepts deep cuts that I would be worried about how it is put together.

+1. The trucks built right after the cuts might not be of the best quality....

I'm sure our warranties will be fine.
