Default The Futuristic Ram???

If each of you would put on your engineering caps for a minute...what kind of Dodge Ram would you build for the future? What would be included in your invention!!!

I am not looking for Back to the Future prototypes but the ultimate vehicle that would blow the socks off the competition!!!

As far as changes to the current body style, i would-
Bring the mirrors closer to the truck unless its a tow mirror
Make the laramie regular height
Sport package should come factory with a 2/4 drop
TRX should come with a 3" lift and agressive tires
Oh and we should have a night runner package

I would like to see a more rugged offroad variant, kinda of like the powerwagon was on the previous generation. First of all i think it would be cool if dodge looked into those aftermarket air spring kits that allow a truck to go from roughly stock to up to an 8" with the push of the button. I wouldn't necessarily want them to go for the full 8", but maybe 4-5" for better offroad articulation and clearance. To go along with this would wider fender wells, a slightly wider tack width, wider tires, and fender flares (real ones, not these little plastic accents they try to pass as flares) to keep it legal. Next would be tubular bumpers with a winch or a setup ready to accept a winch. Waterproofing of the engine, trans, and other driveline components would be nice too. Not necessarily so you can forde a river, but at least so you can cross more than 12" of water without having to worry about shorting your electronics or getting water in your fluids. The final thing i would love to see is a heavy duty transfer case (this mean wheel hubs too, not this electronic engage crap). Maybe something like the Atlas II with twin stick operation. I don't see any of this happening, but i sure can dream.

I say they need to offer a 6.1L in the Sport model.
I would also think that the 3.55 gear ratio needs to be offered in a LSD.
Also, a quad cab with an 8 foot bed would be nice.

No drop on the sport, especially if it is a 4x4. R/T, OK.

Painted grill on the sports.
Air suspension so it can cater to different levels of ride and abuse as well as stance
Offer a hard tonneau, no matter what the truck looks like
Offer stripe packages, like the Challengers can get
Continued improvement on areodynamics
Offer performance exhaust
Offer a 6 speed in the R/T model (or SRT if it happens again)
Internet built into radio so you can browse
Keyless start (not remote, keyless)
Spray in bed liner

Back to the Future for me, add Running boards that come off the fenders like the old power wagons had, add side doors into the box that open or fold down, who says you allways have to load a pick up from the rear?

Flat floor, even if you have to raise the cab over the transmison.

Laser death ray, Great for getting rush hour trafic moving, or if your just in a bad mood.

I'd like to see an integrated air compressor capable of running an impact gun or airing up a tire, but I doubt that would sell well in a 1500. It could run a factory air suspension, too.

I'd like to see an inverter that can power something bigger than a cell phone charger and, btw, what idiot decided to put a two prong outlet in the cab, anyway? I can't even charge my laptop!

A factory tiedown system in the bed that actually works and doesn't suck would be nice.

A fold out step arrangement on the inside of the tailgate would be pretty cool, I think. It would work kind of like a swim ladder on a boat.

Isn't that the infamous "man step" that Ford has on their trucks this year? The Chevy commercials that make fun of it are hilarious.

They make fun of the step cuz they didn't think of it. I about bought a Ford for that reason...but the Hemi kicks ars, and the new Ford's are ugly.
