Smile Need the experts advice!

I am trying to purchase an 4WD 1500 Crew Cab with the Lone star package plus bucket seats. Basically the truck msrp comes to $40500 to 41000 depending on in it has the larger gas tank or other add ons. I was offering $28,000 to $28,000 to dealers that had the units in stock but they did not seem to be budging from around 31,000. Thats all right I think they will eventually come down unless the inventory starts to deplete on uper-end 4WD units.

I question is should I drop my currnet price with the new chrysler incentives? I thought my offer was fair before. Do the buyers on this board think my offer was out of line?

Thanks for you advice in advance

Right now, they are bending over backwards to sell, but they don't want to take a big loss. If they don't call in a few days with the new incentives, then your offer is probably way to low.

New incentives were out this morning. The dealers were getting screwed (shocker, I know) by Chrysler yesterday as they dealyed the new incentives. 31K on a 41K truck is not bad. 28K may be pushing it, never hurts to try though.

You're wanting this at a 25% discount. From what I read that seems pretty good. I think anything over 20% off should be considered.

I agree. My deal that I signed this past Saturday was 28.54% off MSRP ($13,345 off sticker) and it was no haggling at all. Try other dealers. The sticker on my truck was $46,745 (4X2) just to give you an idea. $10 is not bad but I think you can do a little better depending on the new incentives...we don't know the dealer cash yet. I'd wait until you know.

That is what I was thinking. The reports out yesterday say the avg. purchase price of Dodge vehicles was 23% below window sticker. That would be about $9500 at $41,000. I thought I would start low and compromise at little to around $29,000.

Todays new incentives seem to have confused them on pricing strategies, I am getting replies that they are not prepared to make counteroffers yet till they have a better understanding of incentives. I'll keep everyone informed if they move any. Also I live in Austin, Texas, so I can pull inventory from San Antonio, Dallas, Houston and Fort Work.

AA, call Casey Elles at Spring Dodge in Spring, TX (Houston) 281-651-3600 (cell 866-593-9961). She sold me my Ram in February and I was very pleased with the deal and the way she handled the transaction(and she good looking). Spring Dodge has a pot full of Rams and they do DISCOUNT more than any of the other dealers in tried to deal with.

I got 32.33% off MSRP ($14,145 off sticker). No haggling for me either. My TRX4 stickered for $43,745 and I paid $29,600. No trade-in.
