Update: Spoke to the dealership. They are filing a claim with FedEx. FedEx will come and inspect the steps, and they'll likely take them as well. When that happens, they will contact the dealership, and the dealership will send me out a new set.

I also ordered a set, same thing happened, sidesteps dented. Good news is , vendor is replacing them, however I'm having a hard time getting UPS to pick them up (even tho' they damaged them !), due to their inability to tell me roughly when they'll be calling.
Can't wait to get a good set, and get them installed !

Also, regarding the black version -- what are they covered in? Just paint, or are they powder coated or something?

Thanks.

Mopar web site just says black aluminum and chromed aluminum. I will have to look at my hardware as mine were factory installed.

Brackets look like regular steel, not sure if painted or powder coated black (truck is dirty). Bolts look like regular fender bolts.

Thanks for checking, Bubba.

Anyone else have further insight? Two key questions are:

- regarding the black version (vs. chrome), what makes the tubular aluminum steps black? Paint, powder coating or other?

- what are the mounting brakets and hardware made out of?
