Default Water Pump

I did a search to see if this had been brought up or not and I did not find anything so I thought I would post it!

Took the truck in for an oil change last (local dealer does $13 oil change on Wednesday) Had the tech listen to a noise I had been hearing, sounded a little like a belt squeaking or rubbing wrong! Well turns out it is the water pump going bad. They ordered one and will install on Friday!

First warranty issue I have had - 6000 miles and loving the beast!

Glad to see warranties are still being honored and they are taking care of you. This may be an isolated case of a bad part. Hope its not a whole batch of defective water pumps. I just turned 1500 miles on mine. No issues yet.

Where was your truck built and what was the build date?

you know, i have a squeak that starts after my engine warms up. sounds like it's coming from the rear of the engine however.

when i took it in they claimed they didn't hear anything, and that it was probably a MDS solonoid operating???

im still looking for answers on this one.

Sounds like what I was hearing! I could hear it really good from behind the front passenger tire while you are outside the truck.

what led them to finally diagnose the water pump? think i'm going to take mine back tonite and let them have a good listen....

EDIT: why would this noise be coming from the rear though?

Not sure...they just called and told me they needed to order a water pump. I believe the noise is a bearing going out

I just got mine back from some rappid response stuff and asked them to listen to it and they too said they did not hear it so i drove it up close to the building and had them listen again they heard it and put it on the lift and listened with a scope and said that it was comming from the exhaust so they drove a new one behind mine and it was making the same noise so I left it at that guess i will watch this post to see if the water pump replacement makes it go away ??
