Its unfortunate that the tolerance in this society is gone and everyone is so quick to pass judgement on others they don't even know, the people on this forum who go pass the speed limit I'm sure do it with a safe attitude and considering their situation at the time, I am sure they are considerate of the safety of other people, 99.9 percent of the time I run the speed limit and travel well behind people in front of me, hell live your life, don't judge others, and we will all live ours.

I never said there is no time and place to go over the speed limit. Heck, I hit 120+ in the vette plenty of times. Those were all passing situations on back country roads. But the vette can get from 80 - 120 and back to 80 again faster than the truck can do the same from 80 - 100 and back. These trucks being called "stable" at 105+ is a very relative statement. I don't consider a vehicle stable unless you can still perform an emergency maneuver. 3,300 lbs at that speed sitting near the ground and 5,000+lbs at that speed way higher off the ground are two different things.

I guess you should leave the question of handling a vehicle to the person driving the vehicle in its current situation, my 02 and 04 rams have given me plenty of confidence in what it can and cannot do and as long as you respect the limitations you should be ok, I for one feel very comfortable with the truck, the ram is no vette but none the less dangerous, actually safer, I pulled many a limp soul from vettes, stangs, and others, and seen more survivals from trucks, I had pulled two individuals from an 05 SRT 10 Scab that rolled 7-8 times, the two wheels were found 200 yards away, just a few scratches, baffled but hey would rather be in a truck anyday, you flip that vette (which I just ran on one), good luck I have seen the results, but live life and have fun, only here for a short time so enjoy.

I think the point everyone is missing is that going well over the speed limit, no matter how good of a driver you are, is a bad idea because of the other drivers out there.

Think about it. How many times has another driver done something stupid, as in changing lanes without notice? How many times has something come out of nowhere and made you have to stop? Going above the limit is dangerous because of many factors, not just an individual's driving skills and vehicle choice.

With that said, my tires are probably not rated for more than 70. I will stick to around the speed limit.
