Which are better light kits? HIDEXTRA with capacitors or DDM Apexcone Raptors with the error eliminator kit? The DDM Raptors have a lifetime warrenty but they are pretty tough to get on the phone if you have a problem it seems... Also they seem to be backordered and shipping slow. HIDEXTRA has 1 year warrenty and says they will send the capacitors/resistors needed for them to work properly. I spoke to HIDEXTRA yesterday and they said they had the lights in stock and could ship same day.

Thanks,
Ron

I still really don't understand why HID sets are being sold without them to anyone with a 09+ RAM.

From my understanding it's not a guarantee that having a 55W set would cure the issue.

Forgive my ignorance, what exactly do I need from Radio Shack? A capacitor or a resistor? What is the specification I need? None of the vendors for HID kits have a clue as to how these lights work in a Ram, LOL. I had purchased cancelers for this reason but obiviously they did not work. The relay I wired works great but I have no headlight delay/illuminated approach feature now. I was thinking of using the headlight TIPM output with a diode to turn on the HID relay for illuminated approach, the diode used as not to backfeed the TIPM when the headlights are actually on.

Thanks for your help.

You nees one of these on each side. You can just insert them in the plug the relay goes to. If I get some time after work I will take a picture of which wires to insert them into. You can't use resistors becuase they will get way to hot tryinf to create what you need.

I got capacitors with my HID's from HIDEXTRA. They sell them for $8 per pair and they plug in between the light and ballast. My lights work perfect.

So basically your saying get a couple capacitors like in the picture above and im styling?

I went to this shop to get mine installed and the guy has been trying to figure out for so long and he told me he needs to wire a relay and what not. But i just think those capacitors would do. Ill see if radio shack has a couple, but i doubt it.

Yes InterpunX, that should work.

A few days after I installed my lights when I turned on my fog lights my TPMS light would come on, then shut off. This morning I lost TPMS on my passenger rear tire and the message "service tire pressure system" came up on the EVIC... I'm really hoping they arent related..........

Update:

The TPMS problem is from the fog lights. It was just checked by the dealer and there is no problem with the TPMS system. When the fog lights are off the TPMS reads all 4 tires properly and the message clears from the EVIC.... Im contacting HIDEXTRA to see what they will do about the problem...

Actually that sounds like a problem that i remember reading in other threads about the ballasts interfering the signal for the TPMS, that was what some people were having with their ram, another one was the FM radio signal was weak because of the hids.

I will get some capacitors if i find some and try it out, wont be for another couple weeks till i get to it.
