Mine just clicked over 2500 miles and I got the oil change message. I have a coupon from the dealer for a free oil change so I will let them do the first one.

Those of you who went to the dealer for an oil change, how much did they charge? The local dealer wants $58 for a Hemi.

Don't know what my dealer will charge. Had the first OFL done by Fletcher Auto. Was $32.00

Wow! $32 at my local Chrysler Jeep dealer. My local Dodge dealer charges more but I don't deal with them so I don't know how much more. One of the many reasons I stay away from there.

My dealer charges $16.95 but mine is free for life of original warranty due to being a vet!

Just clicked over 5501 and the message popped up. Maybe it was the aggressive driving I did in the country yesterday? Anyways... probably will end up taking it to the dealer....

Called the two closest dealers to my work. One wanted $44 for the Hemi, the other wanted $29.40. I asked if I could bring in my own oil and he said if I brought in my oil & filter he'd do it for $4.50 + some chocolate chip cookies. Sounds like a deal to me.

price would depend on the kind of oil. If it's free-bies, or discounts, I doubt you're getting top notch stuff. 7 Quarts of mobile 1 and a pure one filter cost me over 50 bucks. Getting oil by the drum is cheaper, yes, but it is still not free.

I sent my dealer's service manager an email the other day asking what brand of oil they use (he never did answer that), this is what he sent back (Full synthetic seems way too long in my mind):

Depending upon what type of oil is used will change your oil change oil intervals. We have three different types we use here, conventional ,semi synthetic or fully synthetic. Normally factory uses conventional unless otherwise stated on oil cap which is normally recommended to be changed every 3000 mi. If you were to use the semi synthetic we recommend 5000 mi and 10000 mi for fully synthetic.
Think I'll stick to my plans of mobile 1 every 5-6000.

I believe you can get up to 7,500, on regular oil, before you need an oil change with the Hemi.
Disregard.

The $29.40 deal was for regular oil. He said they have oil changes priced as low as $9.99, but not for the Hemi.

Also, the $4.50 deal was for my own oil & filter, so I'll be heading by Walmart to pick up some Mobil 1 and I think i'll just use that everytime my truck tells me I need an oil change. I probably could go every 10,000 miles with Mobil 1, but I rather not.
