Default cubby hole removal help

As the title says, I'm trying to remove the cubby hole thats over the parking brake release in order to install my brake controller, How do you get the white clips to release? I tried inserting a pick to release the middle peg but it does not seem to want to pull out with any ease.

I thought I would consult the experience of the forum before I add a little more muscle .

There was but not how to remove the cubby hole or at lease i didnt find the answer i was looking ¸for. it turns out that you need to remove the panel below the steering wheel to get to a torx screw. I got it out and almost finished cutting it out I will try and post some pictures for the next guy wanting to install his controller there

Thanks for the responce

Default update

well I trimmed it all out. The mistake I did was trim out the bottom as I wanted the slope of the top of the compartiment for better viewing. I was 95 % sure it would clear the pivot for the handbrake release. it does not.
Its raining right now, ill wait till its clear to see if there is anything I can do about it.
If not, I will have to order a new cubby and do the top like the other gent posted he did..

I will be ordering a new one, it's a shame because besides that F-up its a clean install.

Maybe I should play the card that Dodge should be installing built in brake controllers with Laramie models.

Can you post a pic of what it looks like now? I may end up getting the factory controller when they are available on the heavy duty's. The pic of those looks like its a one piece unit. I think the whole trim piece/cubby is part of the controller. http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/2010-HD.html
