Got wrecked
Well, I was driving on I-30 westbound about 9:45 am on Saturday morning in the rain. I am in the third lane out of four from the right. Buddy of mine is in the truck headed to Fort Worth to run an errand. Driving about 60 as it is raining. A woman in a rcswb Dodge Dakota goes by me in the left lane about 80 mph. No sooner than she goes by than she hit s puddle, and hydroplanes. Drifts left to the barrier and starts a 360. I start on the brakes. She is spinning headed back across the highway. She passes the fast lane, and she is headed right. I head left to the fast lane. She is continuing to spin in the lane that I was in. I thought I had cleared here but as she starts to slow one of her tires catch and she slams into my passenger side. Serious, serious damage from the right side back door on back. Flat tire. She bounced of me and a F150 hit her head on, not very fast, but damaged enough. No one injured. Three trucks screwed up. Felt like yelling but she was upset enough. Able to drive my truck to the dealer. Sat there and looked at it in the rain and just shook my head. At least two weeks. Damn.
I have to commend you on not yelling at her. That is hard to do and even though she was a bonehead for driving to fast, I again commend you on being compassionate enough to keep your cool.
My wife pulled out and hit somebody a year ago. No buddy was hurt and everybody was so nice. People stopped and asked if she wanted them to get her some coffee (was cold out in Michigan). I just remember even though she was at fault, how nice people were and I have paid that forward.
She was waiting on a side street to turn left, the car she was waiting on put on their turn signal to turn right on the street she was sitting at. What she did not see was the car behind that car. That is the one she pulled out in front of.
Sorry to her about your truck! After all, were all on this forum because we love our trucks so much so I feel your pain! Hope they do a great job on the repair!

Man, I feel your pain.
And a $hitty Dakota too. My wife's ex-husband had one of those, so I irrationally despise them. Make sure your insurers take hers to the cleaners.
I applaud your restraint, I'd have blown up.

I am not sure why, but the way you described everyone being so nice reminded me of the movie "Liar, Liar" with Jim Carrey when the buxom brunette tells him how nice everyone is being to her at her new job.

That's funny!
